Reunion - Part II

I have heard from many of you, through the Blog and also by email. I have tried to post the emails on the Blog. I will summarize what msot have said and see where we chould go from here.
Everyone who responded was up for another reunion but we have not heard from many. I assume many of the non-responders are neutral on the idea, a concept I certainly can understand. Everyone is so involved in the activities of their own immediate families that planning a reunion a year in advance is not a high priority. I am going to proceed as if everyone is on top of the idea and plan accordingly.

Most people believe that having the reunion at Pat & Ron's house again is a good idea but they do not want to burden them with hosting the event for a second time. Pat has assured me that this is not a problem and they would love to host the event again so that should not be a concern in deciding where to hold the event. The idea of Gatlinburg, TN was also kicked around and is appealing in the sense that there is so much to do there.

There have been several ideas regarding the date to hold the reunion. Some have suggested the 4th of July so we can use the long weekend. Planning it around events in Dayton have also been suggested such as The Great Darke County Fair or The Dayton Air Show. If we are all in agreement of Dayton one of these 2 dates should be considered. The problem with using the Fair is it runs from August 21-29, 2009 and it might interfer with some schools. The Air Show is July 19-20, 2009.

So I propose we take another couple of polls and see where to go from here. Talk with your kin who have not responded and get their take on a reunion, when and where. I will try to update the information a little quicker next time.

Reunion Time?

It has been several years since the inagural Green family reunion and we have lost a couple members of our family including Winnie. Here in Dayton, my mom and I have had discussions about having another Green Family Reunion, but so far the discussions have not gotten any further than just that, talk. Last week I received an email from Patty and apparently our relatives in Atlanta have been sharing the same thoughts, its time for another Family Reunion. So I think its time to take the next step.

Now we want to find out everyone else's opinions:

• Is everyone on board for another reunion?


• Does the summer of 2009 sound like a good time?


• I know it is more of a burden for the travelers so I need to know if anyone objects to the Dayton families hosting?


• Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I would also like people to email any family photos from the past and present so I can attach them to this blog for all to view.
